We had a wonderful Zazen meditation morning with Den-ei. What a unique way to explore one of the temples in Kyoto! We were taught zazen mediation by a monk and were hosted for a beautiful tea ceremony. This was a wonderful, refreshing experience! The guides were amazing. We were a big and varied group… 7 people, ages 10-65. It was so nice to experience this peaceful, authentic tour. A breath of fresh air after busy travel and crowds. They were knowledgeable and so friendly, and it really made for an approachable and immersive atmosphere. Everyone loved it! I had a wonderful experience in May 2026. The temple is located away from the crowds of tourists that Kyoto usually attracts, which makes it feel even more peaceful and welcoming.

Choosing this meditation experience was definitely the right decision. Both the experience itself and the people who guided and accompanied us were excellent.

Unique experience! We felt so lucky to have booked this experience. It was one of those type of teachings that you bring with you for the rest of your life. Everyone was so kind and open, and the feeling was to be doing something quite authentic, still not over touristic but coming simply from a place of sharing this practice with the others. I truly appreciate how you didn’t make us feel like we didn’t know anything.

Yes we are beginners, but even the monks started from square one.

I also loved the scenery and the idea of uselessness being useful.
